Vermicelli noodles or Seviyan is the main part of the Eid al-Fitr’s celebrations besides being the most wanted dessert on many other occasions. Least effort is required to make this appetizing sweet dish. It has a rich sweet flavor and all of its ingredients are easily available in your nearest market. You can serve it after Eid’s lunch or dinner. Traditionally, Seviyan is garnished with nuts in order to enhance its overall look.
Ingredients
- Vermicelli noodles – 50 g
- Raisins – 2 tablespoons
- Nuts – 2 tablespoons
- Cardamoms – 2
- Condensed milk – ½ tin
- Whole milk – ½ litre
- Pure ghee or butter – 1 tablespoon
- Sugar – As per your taste
Instructions
- Place non-sticking frying pan on your stove over a medium heat and place pure ghee or butter in it.
- Let the butter or ghee melt thoroughly and lightly warm.
- Now, add in 50 gm of the vermicelli noodles and fry them until light brown.
- Remove pan from heat and set aside until you prepare the remaining ingredients.
- Pour ½ liter of the whole milk into a pot and bring it to boil over medium heat of stove.
- Add in some sugar according to your requirement and stir the milk until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Top the milk-mixture with ½ tin of the condensed milk, the fried vermicelli noodles, and two crushed cardamoms.
- Cook it for 2 to 3 seconds until the vermicelli noodles are well soft, stirring with a large spoon constantly.
- Remove the pot from heat and take out the vermicelli mixture in a large serving bowl.
- It is the time to garnish this amazing dish.
- Sprinkle some crushed almonds & pistachios all over the Vermicelli noodles / Seviyan.
- Place your Vermicelli noodles (Seviyan) in refrigerator until chill well and serve with medium serving bowls and forks.
